Imagine Floating High

chorus

Imagine floating high,
Higher, higher, high
Floating right above your life
And you can see that life
Spread along a line
You can see the future today

Verse
And you can see that time
One year from today
The future is so clear
As you hear each word you say
And you feel inside
As it rises like a tide
You can be that person that you want to be
Be that person that you want to be
Right now
Right now

Leaving Mixi, MySpace ...

Social networking sites - such a good idea, but I never really did get around to posting much to any of them. I've just removed myself from MySpace and Mixi. I still have a Facebook account, but I don't use it much. Too many passwords, too many junk mail, too much stuff that doesn't really seem relevant most of the time.

Although Blogger no longer seems to have the popularity that it used to, it's still a convenient way to keep this website in place, so I'll keep the account here.

The Internet was a lot more fun in some ways back in 1993 when there were only a handful of people that I knew online - even connecting by dial-up didn't seem bad.

Offline life seems to become more attractive with age!

An Irish Song

I'm a hairy bastard
I'm going to get plastered
I drink and sing all night long
This is an Irish song

I could tell a story
But a drink is mandatory
I'll make it up as I go along
This is an Irish song

chorus
It's an Irish song (an Irish song)
An Irish song (an Irish song)
We drink and sing all night long
Singing an Irish song

I'll have a pint of cider
No, a Guinness, no wait, neither
I'll have a whiskey, make it strong
This is an Irish song

And another pint for Seamus
He's a no-good ignoramus
But he's been me mate all night long
Singing an Irish song

repeat chorus

Riverdance made us famous
But you can stick it up your anus
I'd prefer a decent singalong
Singing an Irish song

We all got rich on IT
And now we're high and mighty
But the prices are so high – it's wrong
This is an Irish song

repeat chorus

There's an Irish pub in Kashmire
In Rio and in Zaire
In Tokyo, New York and Hong Kong
They're singing an Irish song

And you're not in any danger
By talking to a stranger
Why can't the world just get along
And sing an Irish song

repeat chorus

Now you might think this is all shite
But you're only half right
And if you really think it's wrong
Shure it's only an Irish song

repeat chorus

‘Potato Pals’ come alive on Spectrum stage

This is another new world for the Potato Pals. This time, they've gone on stage. Watch out Broadway - the Good Friends song is on its way.

Acoustic Showcase 2

Danny just made a nice poster for the Acoustic Showcase 2 event. Actually, this is the first draft of the poster. I like it because it only costs 500 forward-slashes (\500) to get in. A forward slash is worth practically nothing these days compared to the cost of a back-slash (/).

Hope to see you there with your slashes of either variety in hand.

St. Patricks Day in Nagoya

Lots of fun at the Saint Patricks Day parade in Nagoya.

I played at Saint James Gate after the parade and it was a pretty crazy evening. You can see me and the other members of The Rising Pints setting up behind this gentleman who considers himself "lucky".

It looked like everyone from the parade had come along to the pub, all equipped with their vouchers for 500 yen Guinness. A very lively night with lots of great music.
